This week we mixed our location recording of live grand piano and voice for Volker Betz the baritone singer from Germany. We had great fun getting the best out of St. Nicholas church in Kenilworth which gave a loverly ambience to our recordings. The end result will be on our clients page soon.

Over the summer One Nation teamed up with [dweeb] and Ze (A One Nation Studios produced artist) together with a local charity ‘cord’ to produce a single to both raise money and awareness for the twenty thousand Sudanese refugee children in Darfur. Check it out through our a featured artist, and buy a CD from the ‘cord’ website, it’s well worth it!

Hey Everyone, well it‘s been too long since we updated the news, it’s as if we haven‘t been doing anything! The fact is we’ve been doing so much we haven‘t been able to update you on what’s been going on. Well, we‘ve just finished producing and recoding a really exciting album with Ze, which should be out in January, but I’m sure we can preview a few tracks before that. Keep tabs on her clients page. We‘ve also been producing a couple more artists, Charlotte James and Helen Barrett, check back soon for some samples of their work on the clients page. And if that wasn’t enough we’ve been producing radio plays with the Gap community centre, creating sound scapes, vocal over dubs and recording local bands and so much more!!!!!!

Supersonic, a 4 piece from Coventry came to the studio to record a 3 track demo. Great stuff guys, really liked your Who cover. Check them out soon on our clients page.

David Freeman writer of Annie Lennox‘s No.1 ’No More I Love You’s’ returns to the studio to record the rhythm section for his latest song.

The Gap youth club from Warwickshire come to the studio to record 3 radio plays they hope will be used by the BBC. 18 young people worked hard to give the play that special something.

The Jilted Generation spent Sunday & Monday at One Nation Studios recording and mixing one of their new tunes. Check the clients page to hear a preview of the track titled Migraine.

Saturday saw the recording of a Double Bass, Cello, Flute and Piano for a little jazz number that is set to form the backdrop of one of Gospel’s finest voices, Zandile.

Article 5 a young rock band, fresh from giging at Cox’s Yard in Stratford, came to One Nation Studios to record a couple of songs. To find out more information about this band and hear the results, check out our clients page.

Geoff Hewitt a well respected session drummer from Leeds spent the weekend with us recording funk, Jazz Neo Soul and Gospel grooves to be used on some of our resent compositions.

The Jug and Jester in Leamington will be seeing Anna and Josh and local artist Jayan perform tonight. This is the first of monthly Monday evening acoustic nights that will involve bands and artists that have recorded here at the studio. Come down and show your support! If you’ve recorded at the studio and would like the opportunity of playing, contact James or John at the studio.

Sambassadors of Groove came to make use of the acoustics at CAW recently. Under the direction of Andie Thomson from Gighouse Studios, the Samba band recorded the sound they were looking for.

Twenty two year Nina from Warwickshire came to the studio to record her vocals over some backing tracks. She could certainly belt out those high notes! We wish her all the best.

A visit to Cambridge to meet RockTech founder, Paul Mcguire, gave us plently of ideas for setting up a similar project here in Leamington. With twelve years success under his belt, we found Paul’s wealth of experience invaluable. Watch this space for a live music academy coming your way!

We welcomed the very bold Jayan and his band into the studio this month. Wanting to do a live recording, they had the place buzzing with energy! The result...an EP that once you’ve heard it, you want to go and see them play live. Have a listen!

Newly weds, Anna and Josh, came to the studio recently to record their first EP together. Yes, it‘s as sweet as it sounds! With Anna’s lush vocals and Josh’s fantastic guitar ability, they are the perfect combination. Aahh. Check them out for yourselves on the clients page!

Exciting new Birmingham based artist, Zee, continues to get creative in the studio! With almost five tracks finished now, it shouldn’t be long before her music is out there for everyone to enjoy!

One Nation Studios not only records bands and solo artists but also deals with other aspects of music such as file conversion. Kevin Renton, a local artist, recently came to the studio for this reason.

Labled “ the highlight of the festival” by Cross Ryhthms magazine, One Nation returned from Greenbelt Music Festival all funked out! Having taken a short break, they’re back in the studio and are ready to start writing more funky tunes. Watch this space...
